Deedra S. McGugin, Au.D., has been with Atlantic ENT since 2005. Originally from Kansas, she studied out west and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Denver, her Master of Arts degree from Kansas State University, where she became a member of Phi Beta Phi Honor Scoiety, and her Doctor of Audiology degree from A. T. Still University/ Arizona School of Health Sciences. She completed her audiology internship at Irwin Army Hospital, Ft. Riley, Kansas.
Her husband, Terry, was in Aerospace so she has practiced Audiology in states where his career led him. She began her career in Denver, CO, in 1983, moved to Huntsville, AL, and ultimately ended here on the Space Coast at Atlantic ENT, with Dr. Michael P. Widick.
During her career, through work in the clinic, she has gained extensive experience fitting all styles and models of hearing aids, and continually attends workshops and seminars to stay current on the latest innovative technology. Due to advances in research, science and technology, she thinks this is an exciting time for hearing aids and hearing loss, and feels that no one should be afraid of seeking help for their hearing problem. All of her patients are very important to her, and her motto is, “Patient’s don’t care what you know, until they know that you care.”
Deedra has four adult children, three living in Florida, and one in Boston. She is an avid runner and, when not in the clinic, you can find her on the road either running or riding her racing bike. Her past volunteer activities include conducting Ammi Hyde interviews for University of Denver prospective students, Special Olympics, and fundraising for The Luekemia and Lymphoma Society.
